Halo 6: What We Know So Far (May 2017)

We've been apart of the Halo community since 2012 and in that time we've put out a lot of speculations, of which many have come true. However, let's switch our gears a bit and just focus on what we know so far about Halo 6.

Splitscreen Returns!
Halo 6 will have split screen, that's a fact.
Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries said, “You know when we fell down with the multiplayer launch of [Halo: The Master Chief Collection], or when we didn't put split screen in with Halo 5. I think it's incredibly painful for the community and for us. It erodes trust with the community, as the community is part of our world building. [We’ve had a] lot of learnings from that, and I would say for any FPS going out forward we will always have split screen going forward...”

Available on PC
We've seen Halo Forge come to PC and it's been stated that Halo 6 will be available on PC. This is a huge win for PC gamers in the community as we haven't really seen a PC version of the FPS series in quite a while.

Master Chief Is Getting a Bigger Role
"We very much realized that people wanted Master Chief's story of Halo 5," said O'Connor. "We definitely marketed in a way that we hoped was going to bring surprise, but for some fans and certainly fans of Master Chief, it was a huge disappointment because they wanted more Chief."

"It wasn’t that surprising to me," O'Connor continued, "but the volume of ‘give us more Chief’ at the end of Halo 5 was significant and so I think if anything he’s slightly more important now than he has ever been, certainly to our franchise."

Conclusion
There are a lot of things we hope for in Halo 6. Among those are debatable and mixed concepts like the return of playable elites, dual wielding weapons, jetpacks, and of course... a strong story that really shows meaning like previous Halo's in the series. These things are however, simply hopes so although we know there will be surprises, we aren't certain any of these things will come true just yet.

We will just have to wait and see what Halo 6 has in store for us!
