Nintendo Switch to TV WITHOUT Docking / 連接任天堂Switch到電視而無須底座
It's only 3 days from our trip to California, I feel so excited about it. We are going to stay in my friends' home, so a little bit group entertainment for sure will be welcomed. What kind of group entertainment is better than some party games from Nintendo, especially when you have a Nintendo Switch in hand. Bringing along the handheld console is a piece of cake but to connect it to TV for party games, you will need extra piece of hardware. Yes, I am referring to the original Nintendo Switch Docking. Although its size is not really big, it is still too bulky for traveling. If possible, I don't want to carry it along.
C-Force CF001
According to various tests, you cannot connect Switch directly to TV via a USB Type-C to HDMI cable. This is because Nintendo put a decoder chip inside the Dock, without the chip, video on Switch cannot be displayed on TV. Apparently, I have no choice but bring along the Dock with me. Wait a minute, I am not going to give up so easily. I worship the almighty God of Google and to reward my faithfulness, the God presented me a little gadget called "C-Force CF001"
Size / 大小
Before testing its function, let's compare it with the Dock. Size-wise, it is only about 1/8 of the Dock, so definitely help to save space in your luggage.
Connections / 連接
"C-Force CF001" has a USB Type-C connector for connection to Switch. The other side of it is a small box with 6 ports, 2 at each sides of the box: 2 USB 3.1 ports at one side, 2 USB Type-C port at the other side and 1 USB Type-C port and 1 HDMI port at the remaining side.
Display on TV /
As shown in the photo, "C-Force CF001" works. In fact, it works not only for Nintendo Switch, it is an adapter that works with any USB Type-C video connection, e.g. Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, Macbook, & Nokia Lumia 950. That explained why it is so difficult to buy one.
Final note:
There is a second generation of "C-Force CF001", which is even smaller in size.
Recently this product was taken offline and not available for sales, but the funny thing is it becomes a Kickstarter project in the name of "Switch-Con"!!!! What a smart way of making money!!!
I haven't really been big on nintendo for a while now. I love mario but the rest of their titles just don't suite me. I guess I have just out grown it ever since the regular nes. Had the gamecube, 64 and regular nes but skipped super nintendo and the wii all the way till now.
#Upvoted for good effort, lol
Super Mario Odyssey is coming soon to Switch, I guess its about time for you to get back to Nintendo.....
I want to own every game console that nintendo offers just to be a hard core collector. I already have a NES, SNES, several gameboys, gamecube, N64, and a Wii. Just when I think I've bought all the old systems they come out with a new one. I love Nintendo!
good information here!
thank you for sharing the information.
Nintendo has great games but is this console worth it? I did really enjoy Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U.
I didn't get a Wii U (I had a Wii). But then I rushed for a Switch.... I think it fits my need, a console that I can play game at anytime... without fighting for the TV and can even play when I am on the plane traveling....
Phone games = enough or will they have a new Pokemon Nintendo Switch game? Im in at that point!
