Are Game Beta Tests Good for Us?

Almost every game has beta before its release. However is it good for us?

Imagin that you have a product and you want to sell it, but before its release, you want to present it. Will your product be unfinished or finished? Of course it will be finished. Betas are finished games, that MAYBE need just little-bit of polish. Betas are here to make you pre-order, to make you spend your money BEFORE you can even read any reviews.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires, for example Doom. The worst beta I have ever played. I did not buy the game after, because of that beta, but the full game is awesome. However do you remember the Division? Many people loved it and it turns out to be a game with little content.

It is good to try a game before you buy it, but be careful, betas are not made for you. They are made for profit. I will not forget Destiny. I loved the beta and bought the game right after its release. It has been one of the biggest disappointment of my gaming life and from that time on, I have always been skeptical and careful with buying games. Because if you buy an unfinished game, you are just supporting the bad behavior of gaming industry.
