I had a chance to play Hearthstone for a couple of days now and I have to say that I absolutely like the card game.

Just a little background information to the readers out there that does not know the game...

You have a hero with 30 life points and you have a deck that has 30 cards.  Each card can do different things and the aim of the game is that you have to drain the life points from the opponent hero until he has 0 life, and then YOU WIN.  Your hero also have levels - the more you play, your levels go up then you get new cards that you can use to change your deck and make it more powerful.

It made me think of my younger days when we collected cards like cars, plains, boats and so on but the best part of it was when you get to go to your friends' house, build the deck and then play against each other to see who has the best deck.

Trading the cards with others, even with people you don't know. At school the kids always wanted to trade and play even if it was during class.  Today it is easy to play against other people you don't know, all over the world but the bad thing about it is that the physical interaction and communication got lost through the digital world today as well as the thrill you get when you have new cards to show and trade with friends.  This is the part that our children miss today even though they grow up so clever with all the technologies out there!

This is just one thing that they will miss in their generation, but at least I can give them an idea of what we did when we were young through a digital version so that they may say "At least you did something cool, dad!

Another thing is that they will never really know what can be done with a deck of cards when you have nothing else to do because they are no longer interested in physical card games but prefer digital games that requires no imagination.

I encourage all teachers and parents to teach children about new technologies and everything that they require for the future, but we must never forget about the basics and all that goes lost with it when we ignore it.
