Hello! I'm going to be talking about Dayz Standalone.

What dayz standalone is..

Dayz Standalone is the standalone successor of the Dayz mod for Arma2. Dayz is a open world survival game developed and published by Bohemia Interactive. The goal of the game is to stay alive during a zombie outbreak, facing multiple enemies ranging from zombies to other players. if you want to read more you can do so here.

I got the game sometime early 2014 and played it for a bit after having a good time playing the Dayz mod for Arma2. And just never thought it was as fun as the Arma2 version.
The game had 45,398 peak players in December, 2013 but peaked at 28,241 players in December 2014. And in December 2017 only had 4,733 peak players.

So why did Dayz "Fail"?

Well the game was in Early Access for four years. And finally got to the beta stage in 2017 but this was too little too late. I like most other early adopters thought the mod's were way better. In the mods you had better weapons, base building and Dayz standalone released without vehicles witch were a big part in the Arma2 versions because the map is huge and running across it is a pain and can take forever. Base building was something that was promised with Dayz standalone but was never delivered. But something that was available in Dayz mods like Epoch. The game had a huge hype train round it thanks to Dean Hall but couldn't deliver on it's promises and was doomed to fail. And Dayz is currently developing and is going to release a console version of the game. This is the only real way they can make any money thees days...
What can I say should you buy the game? Well yes and no. It could turn out good one day, but money is running thin and the player base is low. But on the other hand the project could be completely abandoned and you could just be wasting you'r money...
