These games are gearing up for another year of Halloween celebrations

in #gaming6 years ago

Halloween is just around the corner once again. As we dive further into October, the gaming world brings out its spooky side. These are some of the games we are most excited to play during their Halloween events.

Destiny 2

With the release of the Forsaken expansion still fresh, we now head into the Festival of the Lost. Destiny's answer to Day of the Dead that celebrates all those they have lost. In this event, Amanda Holliday becomes the event vendor and she sends you into the Haunted Forest on Mercury to investigate the disturbances. New event engrams have made their way to Eververse with plenty of spooky themed items and emotes up for grabs. The event began yesterday for us in Australia so you can jump in now to explore the spookiness that Bungie has whipped up.

Fortnite

And you thought there would already be enough kids running around in Fortnite costumes for Halloween. While there may not be any confirmed event for the battle royale, Halloween skins have been leaked. These include some spooky looking Spider costumes and even a Spider Glider. Other leaked costumes take the form of a Chinese Warrior and even a Durr Burger Onesie.

Overwatch

Overwatch is known for its event skins and this year is no different. Both new and old Halloween skins are back in the game with a free loot box to kick things off. There are 9 brand new Halloween Skins with another 20 returning. Joining these are some new highlight intros for Winston and Brigitte as well as a new emote for Bastion. We are already a week into the three-week event that will end the day after Halloween for us on November 1st.

Killing Floor 2

This game hardly needs a Halloween event as it is already gruesome enough but they are back for another year of spookiness. The Halloween Horrors event brings a new map, Monster Ball, that will be available for a limited time. There will also be four brand new weapons including the exclusive Road Redeemer chained bat that is only available for players who always own Road Redemption on Steam. The Monster Masquerade has already begun so don't miss out.

Rocket League

This year, the Haunted Hallows returns to the field with some spooky new loot. Collect Candy Corn to unlock new decals, toppers and wheels to give your car that spooky vibe. Candy Corn can also be redeemed for a Golden Pumpkin that does not require a key to open and will contain a customisation item from either the Nitro, Turbo or Player's Choice Crate. The event has already begun and will end on November 6th for us down under. If you don't spend your Candy Corn before then, don't despair, it won't expire until November 9th at 8 am AEST.

MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 that we covered last year will also be returning, as they do every year. There have also been leaks suspecting that the very new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be getting a Day of the Dead themed event as well. Which of these events are you most excited for?
