Quiet Is Now Playable In Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

in #gaming6 years ago

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has received its first update in over a year. Now, keep this secret between you and me, but it lets you play as Quiet. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

Quiet will be a playable character in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's Forward Operating Base (FOB) game mode. This game mode is an online extension of Mother Base, which allows players to gather more supplies and expand Mother Base. How players do this is by infiltrating the FOBs of other players. Though FOBs allows players to gather more resources, it also opens them up to their FOBs being infiltrated by others.

The patch notes detail some of the gameplay benefits players will experience when playing as Quiet. "Quiet is an expert with a sniper rifle, and her steady hands let her take shots without shaking." Besides the obvious benefits of playing as an expert sniper, Quiet also has some improved movement options that make her perfect for infiltrating FOBs. "Quiet's movement speed is extremely fast and allows for unique jumping abilities over high steps where a player would usually need a ladder. She can close in on enemies quickly with her special dash, while remaining still for a certain amount of time will make her stealthy."

Alongside the inclusion of Quiet as a playable character, the recent update also provides players with additional new development items. There are two new sniper rifles that can penetrate obstacles, two Dark Matter Generator's that creates a massive ball of dark matter that blocks light, one that damages enemies while the other stuns them, and an Energy Wall that generates a protective shield that can temporarily top shots, stun effects, sleep, and markings. Finally, a new difficulty level has been added to Event FOBs that if completed, will prevent other players retaliating.

It is good that Konami is still supporting Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, but considering this update mainly affects the online component of the game, it may not interest players who prefer the single-player component.

The update can be downloaded right now, so if you want to live out your Quiet fanfiction, now is your chance.

Just seeing these shots makes me want to fire up this game again. Was very into it. However I never finished the story because my playstation decided it doesn't like discs anymore and is constantly trying to eject while going on a beeping spree (happened mid crucial mission and the was the last time I played). However, my PS4 has been behaving lately, so I may just give it a shot. I am more of a campaign mode for this game, so as you mentioned the Queit update may not be for me. Nonetheless my interest is peaked once again. Oh @gamersclassified, job well done.

I pumped an ungodly amount of hours into this game. Some people thought it was very repetitive but i thought it was a masterpiece! I might just boot it up again! Thanks for dropping by again :)

TRULY THIS IS WHAT THE MGS SERIES NEEDED!

Sorry for the sarcasm, but it seems like maybe Konami's priorities should be elsewhere...maybe finishing this game, or maybe they could have been making Survive/future games better? I feel like if they were going to do this it could have been done a lot earlier.
