Epic Games Releases $12 Million Worth of Paragon Assets For Free

Epic Games announced today that Unreal Engine 4 developers now have access to $12 million worth of Paragon assets for free.

Epic's Product Marketing Manager, Daniel Kayser made the announcement via the Unreal Engine community page. Kayser stated that the Paragon assets will include, "20 AAA-quality characters, with their respective skins, animations, VFX and dialogue, along with over 1,500 environment components from Paragon." Included in the 20 characters is Shinbi, who comes packaged with an animation blueprint. This blueprint can be used by developers as a framework for animating the other characters included in the asset pack. Alongside the already available assets, Epic Games plans to add further Paragon asset pack throughout summer 2018.

Amateur or professional game developers can download all of these assets from the Unreal Engine 4 marketplace and use them in both commercial and non-commercial Unreal Engine 4 projects. Epic Games also revealed in a forum post that Former Lead Animator on Paragon and the Gears of War series, Jay Hosfelt, will be joining a livestream on March 29th to show how to set up the animation blueprint for the Paragon characters.

Having access to $12 million worth of assets for free is a great way for new and old developers to utilise and experiment with existing assets.
