Bungie Reveals Destiny Grimoire Anthology Volume 1
Bungie has officially announced the Destiny Grimoire Anthology Volume 1 and fans are able to pre-order the book from the official Bungie Store. Who knew Destiny actually had a story?
The store page details what consumers can expect within the Destiny Grimoire Anthology Volume 1. "The Destiny Grimoire Anthology weaves tales from multiple sources together for the first time, casting new light on Destiny's most legendary heroes, infamous villains, and their greatest moments of triumph and tragedy."
This volume is the first in what will be a continuing series of Grimoire Anthologies. Bungie reveals how each volume will differentiate themselves from the other while shedding light on several aspects of the world of Destiny. "Each unique volume intends to illuminate a facet of the world, and the complete anthology will confirm and challenge players' thoughts and assumption on what it means to be a Guardian, offering new and differing perspectives on the cosmic war that rages between the Traveler and its ancient enemies."
Compiling all of the Grimoires into one place, while touching on topics and characters previously ignored is something many fans of Destiny may be interested in. But, this also brings up the issues of how the lore of Destiny was implemented into the game. In short, there really wasn't a good story.
Though players can read the Grimoire to learn more about the game, they can only do so via a website. There is no way to read these from within the game. This aspect of Destiny is a point of contention amongst fans. Many hoped that Destiny 2 would have more story within it, but the story within the game was vague and something to be desired. Though, looking at the Destiny subreddit, fans seem to be very excited by this announcement.
The first volume retails for US$28.99 and is titled,'Dark Mirror'. The Destiny Grimoire Anthology Volume 1 will ship in Fall 2018.
I remember trying to compile this via Reddit and YT videos. It is so much better than the in game story!
Good fun indeed! Thanks for dropping by :)
