A major staple in the Black Ops series is now back in the latest iteration of the game. Only weekly after release, Treyarch announced that the infamous map Nuketown will make its way back to the Call of Duty series. However, this is yet again another version of the fan favorite map. The map Nuketown was originally released in Black Ops 1 as a regular map from the main release of the game. It quickly became the most popular map in the game despite the game having probably the best set of multiplayer maps of any Call of Duty game ever.

While it is not a surprise to see it back in the latest game, I was surprised that it was not available when it originally released in October. They had dedicated a section of the popular Blackout game mode to represent the map as well which many thought was going to be the most they were to do. However, they now have finally released the new map for multiplayer. I also found that the spin they gave it was interesting as it is a Russian type version of Nuketown. The map continues to have the overall general layout for this version. An addition was now a small opening that permits you to drive a RC car score streak underneath the map to drive it between the sides. It also shows the silo of the nuclear weapon below the map that is triggered at the end of each map like previous versions.

What is still yet to be determined is if the biggest Easter egg is available on the map. In previous versions, there were a number of mannequins around the map that would come to life if you got headshots within a certain amount of time. They would act as zombies for a short period of time. However, this has not been seen in this latest iteration as of yet. Treyarch has put the map in its own playlist for those hardcore gamers that continue to enjoy the map as they have in the past. I think this is a great addition but it has also shown that Black Ops 4 has come with a limited amount of new maps as a couple are remastered versions of previous ones. I expect them to improve as DLCs come in the future.

Thanks!
