Why The Last Of Us Remastered Is Clearly One Of The Best PS 4 Games (Original Content)

What's up guys! Today's featured game will be The Last of Us! It's probably the first or second game we've played on the PS 4.

Needless to say, it was one of the best games we've played on the PS 4 and we can't wait for the Last of Us 2 to come out!

What is The Last of Us?

The Last of Us is pretty much a survival-horror game where you play as Joel, a pretty tough dude who lost his family in the cordyceps infection. The infection pretty much wiped out most of humanity and you'll see a lot of zombie-like creatures roaming the earth. It's actually a pretty creepy game filled with a lot of suspense and possible one with the best story line.

Think of The Last Of Us as being stucked in a really empty world devoid of fun and lots of crazy zombies who would want you dead. To add to that problem, there are different groups of human beings that are against you as well. So you're pretty much screwed. Joel is then required to transport a girl named Ellie to safety because she may be a cure to all these.

The best part is the chemistry between Joel and Ellie. Despite being game characters, their relationship is better than many TV dramas we've seen and it's something that made the game real and awesome. As time passes, Joel thinks of Ellie more like his daughter who died earlier.

Without ruining the story too much, here are 7 things we love about the Last of Us:

1. The setting / mood is incredible

It has a post-apocalyptic setting where the buildings are either half-destroyed or they have been taken over by plant growth or roots. It really sets the mood. Kind of like The Walking Dead. We love post-apocalyptic zombie/undead people games to be honest.

Even when you're in buildings or you're underground, the setting is seriously creepy and you feel like you'll get ambushed at any second. Some areas are clearly under-lit and with all of those spooky noise in the background, The Last of Us is amazing as far as setting goes.

2. The relationship between Joel and Ellie is remarkable

Joel started off like a grumpy old man as he wastes his life feeling sorry for himself. His whole family died due to the cordyceps infection which only left him alive. Life was pretty much meaningless to him.

One day he was given the task of transporting a "package" to another side of town. He thought it was some goods of course, but he later found out that it was Ellie, a little girl. They argued a lot at the beginning parts of the game as Joel didn't want to transport a girl. He later discovered that Ellie was actually an infected but she didn't turn into "one of them". That's the reason why she was important to the Fireflies, a group of human beings.

They fought a lot but as time passed by they grew to like each other more. Joel sees Ellie as his daughter who passed away back then and their relationship strengthened. There were many obstacles in the game but Joel didn't want to let Ellie go even though Ellie could have saved humanity. He chose Ellie over humanity.

The Last of Us 2 will feature Ellie as the main character.

3. The gameplay is quite realistic

The story of the game is awesome and the gameplay is great as well. It's pretty realistic in the sense that you're always running out of bullets and sometimes using guns is not the best option.

There are some infected called "Clickers" and they don't have sight. However, they respond very sensitively to sound and one fire of the gun will lead them running to you. The scary part is, if they grab you, you're dead. They will show a short scene of you getting bitten to death and game over. You'll have to start again from the last checkpoint.

The clickers are easily the scariest part of the game. That's because you're always trying to sneak through them. Imagine having 5 of them in a room and you're supposed to get to the other door. It's filled with suspense and you can actually stealth kill them but you need to be precise.

Even if you had a lot of bullets, you may not kill all of them and you'll probably die. It's realistic in the sense that you have to scavenge for weapons, use silent ones like arrow to kill quietly, always walk stealthily like you would in real life and it's really easy to die.

4. It's not all about the infected

In a crappy post-apocalyptic world, you'll have to worry about the humans as well. They're sometimes more deadly than the undead.

Even in this game, you'll have to fend off human enemies on many occasions as they're trying to get Ellie, since Ellie holds the cure. At the end of the game Joel decided to take Ellie with him instead of letting the Fireflies dissect her. That's because she will die but she may save humanity.

Then again, he clearly said he rather save Ellie than save humanity.

5. You feel sad once you've finished playing the game

The longer you play, the more you're drawn into the game, especially the characters Joel and Ellie. Their relationship left a big impression to us and it leaves you wanting for more. Luckily they have announced that The Last of Us 2 is coming out sometime in the future and you'll probably be playing Ellie is time.

Everything about it was perfect. The excellent graphics due to the remastering, the awesome story line, the chemistry between the characters, the human element of betrayal, the creepy setting, the realistic game play and the sound effects. They're all on point which made IGN give this game a 10/10.

We felt the same way when we first played this game. It was definitely a masterpiece.

Final Verdict

We give The Last Of Us a 4.8/5, since we don't really give 5/5 ratings. For fans of post-apocalyptic survival-horror games, The Last Of Us should be at the top of your list.
