My impressions about: The Last of Us

It was only a matter of time before I could finally have this game in my hands, and that is one of the main reasons why I bought a PS3 (besides not having enough money to buy me a PS4), is this title, The Last Of Us, a game that has now become my favorite of the new generation, far surpassing the 3 main games of the Uncharted saga. That as a fact, although many already know, both the Uncharted saga and The Last of Us are games created by the company Naughty Dog, a company that really does not know how to make bad games.


Although the Uncharted saga and The Last of Us are games created by the same company, in just the first minutes of The Last of Us you can see a big difference between them, especially in how they are going to tell us the story, for me the way in which events happen and all situations in The Last of Us is more engaging and much more immersive than the Uncharted saga, Naughty Dog knew how to handle all those aspects in the most natural way possible, thus giving a better result at the moment to know and understand the main characters. For much of the game, we will be Joel, an adult man who is in a post apocalyptic world that is full of all kinds of infected, that with just one bite of them means death. These infected unlike the classic zombies of games such as Resident Evil, are sick product of a fungus that takes control of them, said fungus causes aggressive behavior in people and reached a certain time, they become a type of infected more dangerous than the normal ones.

In the world of The Last of Us, despite the fact that many years have passed since the first outbreak of the disease, there are still many of the ravages caused by the epidemic and despite the fact that in some areas of the cities there are checkpoints , many of them are abandoned as a result of attacks by infected or rebel groups, the same rebel groups that play an important role in the whole game and above all play a more important role in the life of our co-star, Ellie. She is a girl who, like Joel, has been a spectator of great misfortunes, losing family and friends, but in her is the cure of this disease, since Ellie is immune to the parasitic fungus that is affecting humanity. So suddenly, Joel is entrusted with the care and transfer of Ellie to one of the bases of the rebel army to examine it and thanks to it can create a cure.

The Last of Us is a game that knows how to handle feelings and emotions, in just the first minutes of the game, we witnessed the first tragedy on Joel's part, and that is when his daughter dies. It's funny that for several years when this game came out, I already knew that Joel's daughter would die, however, how Naughty Dog presented his death, was representative enough of what would be a big part of the game until his death. final, it was a very strong scene that caused me quite sad, even though this character (Joel's daughter), only appears 10 mins, at most, throughout the game. . The death of Joel's daughter and later his meeting with Ellie years later, is undoubtedly one of the main reasons why The Last of Us is a game that is essentially full of feelings of different types. Little by little, while adversities and dangers are going on, the relationship between Joel and Ellie is more united and you can really see the concern that Joel feels about what could happen to Ellie when he turned her over to the rebel army. In it he saw his dead daughter, and as a good father he does not want to let her go one more time. However, I felt that they should have placed more emphasis on the "father and daughter" relationship, since during part of the game we can not observe that relationship and although it is known that it is, in my opinion they should have shown more situation or scenes of them where That aspect has been seen.

The setting of The Last of Us is very immersive, much more than we can see in the Uncharted saga. The stages enjoy great color, excellent texture and details, everything very similar to what we can see in reality, so much so, that it really feels that the stage where we move is "real", to put it in some way and that It is not artificial. And without a doubt creating that effect in a videogame, is an aspect that very few titles have the capacity to achieve. In short, The Last of Us is a game that feels quite real, both situations, scenarios and dialogues can be seen that it is a fairly mature game compared to the Uncharted saga, and I know I am making many comparisons with Uncharted, but it is the only way in which we can observe in great progress and the great change that can be made by the same company in two different games, and that gives a lot to talk about the professionalism and the level of quality of a developer of video games. Something that I liked very much about this title is its playability, since it is quite dynamic, giving us the option to eliminate enemies in a way that is aggressive, taking into account that in many cases it is better to go with caution so that our objective is fulfilled more easily. In addition to this, we have a wide range of firearms and the ability to improve them, increasing the speed of shots or the capacity of ammunition, among other things. Also very important is the improvement of the skills of our character, ranging from the increase of our maximum life, creation of items at a higher speed or to hear the sound of our enemies at a greater distance, each of these abilities is of great importance during every game and will dictate our gameplay.

To finish, The Last of Us has become my favorite "new generation" game, that despite not being perfect, as is logical, it is a game that really revolutionized the industry as we know it, bringing us a story, not It is innovative, but it is the way it is told that it makes many people around the world have been delighted with what The Last of Us is and what it was. For its future sequel, I just hope it is adequate enough or in any case much better, for what represents the legacy left by this work of video games.
