Riot Games wants older players to quit playing League of Legends
No matter how much they've hurt their playerbase over time, they just keep trolling us. But then it hit me.
Speculation
Riot always bring up the "change" topic. It's never ending. They rework and kill of champions, while still introducing new ones when the game is at around 150 different characters.
There was a local pro team from my country that announced they will rotate their players every 3 years. That's all you get if you join them. Other pro teams are replacing everyone. The game has changed too much anyway. Some of them started streaming different stuff.
Ads about League of Legends trying to reel in stray gamers have been popping up non-stop on YouTube. Really cool ads, by the way.
I think they want old players to give up. This lowers ingame toxicity a bit and pushes away complaints about how they've handled things in the past. Newcomers are more likely to spend on a game that is yet to hurt them or burn them out.
Just like the old Gangplank was replaced with the new Gangplank, your summoner will be replaced for another summoner, because the game you're so fond of is ran by a company not as fond of you.

Yeah, that's basically it. Much to Riot's destruction, too. I don't see this ending well for the company.
I'm gonna miss them. Well, not them, but I'm gonna miss the game.
It was fun for a while for me. Eventually, it just reached this point where I became a worse person when I played it. Like, legitimately awful. It was not healthy for me to spend time on LoL, so I did the only smart thing and left.
Thank you!
