Overwatch League Commissioner, Nate Nazer, just released a video with some major announcements regarding Overwatch League (OWL).

The biggest announcement is the team owners and the cities tied to the first 7 OWL teams.

Robert Kraft, Owner of the New England Patriots, purchased the rights to Boston.

Jeff Wilpon, COO of the New York Mets, purchased the rights to New York.

Noah Whinston, CEO of Immortals, purchased the rights to Los Angeles.

Ben Spoont, CEO/Co-founder of Misfits Gaming, purchased the rights to Miami-Orlando.

Andy Miller, Chairman/Founder of NRG Esports, purchased the rights to San Francisco.

NetEase, Blizzard's Chinese Partner, purchased the rights to Shanghai.

Kevin Chou, Co-founder of Kabam, purchased the rights to South Korea.

We have been waiting for any type of news from Blizzard who has been very tight lipped when it comes to OWL since its original announcement at Blizzcon 2016. It is great to see these big names jumping in early and I can't wait to see who else buys in over the coming months.

Here is an article on theverge.com that includes the video announcement by Nate Nazer this morning.
