Xaya rocks.

'What's Xaya', I hear you ask?

Well, (and in the interests of transparency and full disclosure - I hold CHI, Xaya's token) Xaya is a new blockchain designed by gamers for gamers. It's built by the team behind one of the early altcoins (probably before the term altcoin was, ahem, coined), Huntercoin. Huntercoin, I have heard, was designed with a limited shelf life to test the viability of blockchain for gaming. Years later, the coin is still with us and coinmarketcap.com rank it at 1180 out of 2008 coins at the time of writing. Pretty impressive!).

Xaya began its life as Chimaera, and I have been posting about it here on steemit since those days (see https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@drwom/chimaera-this-ico-could-provide-the-kick-blockchain-is-looking-for and https://steemit.com/gaming/@drwom/i-am-loving-this-ico-chimaera)

These guys know gaming, and they know blockchain.

A few months ago Chimaera was rebranded as Xaya, and it hasn't looked back.

Xaya is one of the few blockchains which is designed to 'remove the blockchain' from its operations. It is designed to run smoothly for the novice. Play the games. Have fun. Enjoy the security and benefits of blockchain without ever even knowing or caring that the games you are playing are built on one.

This is where the future of blockchain lies: in those technologies which will supersede existing programs and systems without hassle or fanfare. Designers and players (in this example) will be drawn to them because of their simplicity of use, the benefits they bring in terms of security, transparency and fairness.

Bring on the future!

Nice writing and good to see you've supported it for a while. I've done so too, mentioning it in some articles and privately to others. Made some interested, but most people currently believe it's just another ICO that promises a lot but gives nothing. :/

By the way, I saw you held CHI? I'm also a CHI holder, though a fairly small one :P

Have you seen the new game yet, TreatFighter? I tried the closed testing and it looks fairly neat. I really hope it goes public soon, since an actually functioning PUBLIC game on the chain would make XAYA as a whole more attractive.

Hi - yeah I agree. It's very cool, but the one thing worse than an extended launch (and the wait which that entails) is launching too soon and full of bugs.

I guess we'll just have to be patient!
