Game Spotlight: The Binding of Isaac - Rebirth

Game spotlight:

Game spotlight is a series of short blogs I will post regularly on my page, the idea is to cover all types of small and indie games across all platforms that I think are great fun to play and are not too expensive. I personally love playing games made by small studios and independent creators because they tend to be more unique, so you are often in for a lot of surprises.

The Binding of Isaac - Rebirth:

The binding of Isaac is an independent roguelike game, you can play single and multiplayer, however if you are playing multiplayer it has to be local so someone you know.

The game is laid out as a series of connecting rooms, each room is like a puzzle that will have a unique task to complete, once you complete a room you can move onto the next one and so on.

There is also quite a lot of exploration in the game as a room can have multiple doors which can lead to more rooms with more doors. Most of these rooms will be the same size and you will be able to see the whole of the room in one, however there is a few larger rooms.

Although the game is called the binding of Isaac there are more characters than just Isaac, overall there is 13 different characters.

Each character has different strengths and weaknesses spread out across seven stats; Health, Damage, Shot Speed, Range, Speed and luck. Along with tacking the stats into account each character also has a unique item set to help you throughout the game.

Throughout the game you will also come across a huge range of enemy monsters and bosses, each of the bosses will drop a few items when killed, the items will give a range of different boosts to your character.

As the Binding of Isaac has so many different rooms there is a lot to actually play through, so it isn’t one of those games that is over quickly, which I like because there is a lot to explore and play through. Also because of the amount of in game variation you can play for a long time and not get bored, however the sounds can get a little irritating.
