CS:GO "Survival" mode is literally... PUBG
Okay so, PUBG (Playerunknown's Battlegrounds) was a big hit last year and it also got nominated for GOTY (Game Of The Year) however was not able to win and lost their spot to Zelda: BotW (Breath of the Wild)
Albeit, PUBG's fame is undeniable. It sold more than 25 million copies (which rakes up about 1 BILLION DOLLAR!) that is spectacular for an indie (perhaps) developer!
But what is interesting is... The latest CSGO updates, since 2016 May, there is a rumour that CSGO is going to have a Battle-Royale-ish gamemode. Update changelogs show that a new map called "Survival Island" was added including airdrops, breach charges, Nightvision googles etc.
It appears that this is a gamemode where players dropped onto random locations, no loot, constant phases (circles) and airdrops. Sound familiar?
