Go home, Nintendo, you're drunk.
Seriously, I've debated with people today and been told that cardboard is durable and will last for months and it's well worth the price...lol. I realize there is some software that comes with the cardboard, but it is by no means a AAA tier game or anything close to it that would justify the price point. I don't care about adults not being happy with DIY cardboard accessories, it is a different idea and works for the targeted audience so long as parents actually are willing to sit down and put the crap together. But, paying $70-80, or $150 for both sets for mostly just cardboard is nuts to me. I honestly feel like Nintendo must be fucking with us considering that it's being released on 4/20, but who knows.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just feel that it's fairly overpriced for what you're getting and there are a lot of issues that pop up in my mind. What if your kid smashes the cardboard on accident? Can you get a replacement for free? Or, do you have to drop another $70-80? I feel like it would be the latter knowing Nintendo. Just had to rant a bit about it on here as I just feel like I'm in the twilight zone seeing my friends on Facebook either responding with "It's cool, man. Nintendo is great, I love sucking them off!" or "The cardboard is top notch! I can't wait to buy it, and I expect it to last just as long as the dinosaurs did!". I think my buddy @Alexbeyman put it quite well last night when I mentioned it to him on here, as he phrased it as "Nintendo has made greed an art form", something I definitely have to agree with.
I just found out that Skyrim is on the Switch. I got all excited and hopped on Amazon to browse and perhaps buy one. $80 Canadian for Skyrim! 80 fucking dollars! lol
The game is 7 years old! Every game on the system costs that. It's insane.
Then I read this! Had no idea the they were charging that much for cardboard cutouts.
You're right. Drunk.
Oh, just wait another year or two and you'll be able to play Skyrim on your toaster oven, man. And, it'll just be for the low price of $100 since it comes with a special toast DLC add on. The futureee
Honestly, as much as I love Skyrim they have milked the ever living fuck out of that game. I'd like to see a new Elder Scrolls game or something instead of just a re-release or port being done every year.
Yeah, someone needs to take the sake from Nintendo before they start selling Pokemon fleshlights. Though I can only imagine how well those would probably actually sell.
I'm scared for the future of games like Skyrim. That toast DLC is no joke.
It will be in a loot crate though. With extra social justice sprinkled on, with 100% more diverse writing. Give the people would 3 loud people on the internet want!
Mmm. SJ sprinkles! Sounds like some delicious cancer to add onto anything great!
I haven't spent a penny on Nintendo this generation due to their obvious, outright price gouging and greed. It's at a disgusting level. I'm sure they'll pit out a couple quality games and then abandon the platform like they've done the last few generations. I'm well over Nintendo. I'll stick to PlayStation when it comes to consoles.
If I wanna play Pokemon stuff then I'm kinda stuck with them sadly, though I won't be playing the next gen of Pokemon games for awhile since I can't afford a Switch. Had to buy my 3DS used 3 years after they were released and I'll probably just do the same here I suppose. Probably better that they don't directly profit from me, as I do think they're one of the most money hungry gaming companies around.
Everything is business for them... They dont care about their fans..
Nice game
Kudos
somewhere I read that they are offering the blueprints for the cardboards for free - so you can print it out and make your own stuff, and just buy the game seperatly (or in case somebody wants to water your cardboard or smash it or something lol)
nintendo always trys to do something different, I think thats very cool.. even though I'm always uncertain and wait for 1-2 years before I buy some new nintendo stuff lol
