These were all great games. Others that come to mind for me are R.C. Pro-Am, Strider, Bionic Commando, and Solar Jetman (very underrated if you ask me).

I had never heard of Solar Jetman.. had to look that one up. I think I had already moved on to Genesis at that point in time (1990)
I also seem to remember it was necessary to finish Strider in one go....is that right? Like there were no saves or codes like in Metroid...I'm not sure about this but I do remember it being a great game.
