Retrolink N64 Classic USB controller: Review and unboxing
Those who were lucky enough to experience the Nintendo 64 bit era in the mid 90's remember that weird N64 controller design that reminded me of some kind of controller that was made for alien. I use to call it the alien controller, but it still was a very good controller to use in my opinion even though I was with team Playstation during that era. It comes with a reasonably long 6ft usb cable, that should be more than enough for most of us and can be found for a price of $15 USD. Those who emulate on there PC's and Mac get to play from the comfort of their desk chair and enhanced visuals but there's one major thing missing, the actual controller that you use to game with! You have gamed so many hours in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Star fox, Super Smash Brothers, or Mario 64 etc it just doesn't feel complete without the original controller. It's makes a huge difference playing your favorite classic N64 game with the controller you remembered playing with back in the day, it just feels so right.
As to how this particular controller feels to play with is nothing less than awesome. It pretty much looks and feel like the original N64 controller that nintendo made. It looks like they actually used the same plastic controller mold because the size is exactly as the original and the quality of the buttons even feels better then what i remember on the original ninendo controller, except for the D pad, it doesn't feel as firm as the original but still feels good to use.
The one thing this controller is missing is the ability to use a Rumber Pack that the original used, but as far as I know there isn't a emulator that has a rumble pack feature so its not a big deal. Retro Link did a great job creating this N64 controller for those of us who want to relive the 64 bit era that ninendo made so great.
