With the advance of technology and its advance in the graphics of video games, there is a great growth in survival and horror games, but in this case they do not want to continue with the typical video games where research is the only objective. There is a demand for combat in real time, which allows the adrenaline to flow beyond logic. Due to these demands, many companies have been given the task of mixing terrifying atmospheres with a style of shooting game, which has been a success to this day.

F.E.A.R. It is a video game of shots developed mainly for the Windows platform in the year 2005, but then it was officially released for xbox360 and PS3. The video game has an atmosphere of survival and terror, coincidentally F.E.A.R. has managed to maintain the Counter Strike game style that is still popular today, in addition to adding an atmosphere of terror in the style of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but the whole theme is based on the urban stories of the Asian population

The interesting thing about F.E.A.R. Is that it is one of the first video games to combine technology and paranormal activities, so if we are used to playing Silent Hill where classic firearms are used, in this case F.E.A.R. It presents us with such advanced technology that there are even robots and advanced firearms.

The history of F.E.A.R. It begins when a series of people belonging to the special forces are given information that very peculiar events have occurred, sources report that it is cannibalism and supernatural forces. Certainly there are few true theories that are presented at the beginning of the game, that is why the rookie is assigned to explore the facilities where the person responsible for these acts is supposed to be, that character is the one we will control in the game.

As we move forward we realize that everything is associated with a secret group belonging to the government the EE.UU dedicated to the treaty of paranormal threats. Upon learning this, the main character realizes that Paxton Fettel is the one who leads a battalion of super soldiers who were cloned and can only be controlled in a telepathic way.

At the Armacham Technology Corporation facility, a man witnessed paranormal activities, all related to a girl named Alma Wade. After that, the team discovers that the commissioner Betters is capable of hacking devices that allow extracting information about the events that occurred, as well as information about Paxton Fettel and the super soldiers. The commissioner discovers that Paxton Fettel is the son of Alma Wade and raised for the purpose of being the commander of the super soldiers, that is why he has the ability to control super soldiers telepathically at great distances.

In the Origin project, the character we control finds and confronts Paxton Fettel, who creates a hallucination that allows him to see that he is also the son of Alma Walde, only that he was born long before being locked up, in this hallucination the murder also happens by Paxton Fettel. After the events that took place, our main objective is to defeat Alma Wade, so it is intended that the best way to do this is to exploit all the project facilities, so he decides to sabotage the nuclear reactors, as it is known that These reactors have the ability to make all facilities disappear and also Alma Wade.

After exploiting the facilities, the character is rescued by a team of air forces, but when flying over the ruins they realize that there is still a paranormal atmosphere in the area, where everyone sees that Alma Wade reappears trying to shoot down the helicopter, in that moment they realized that the destruction of the facilities had not destroyed Alma Wade.

At the end of the game, the main character and first son of Alma Wade receives a phone call from the senator and the presumed president of the Origin project facilities, who offer to give some explanations of the events, all conclude that the whole project is under control and that the first prototype of Paxton Fettel has been a success.

The graphics of F.E.A.R. They are quite adjustable, which makes it compatible for teams with few resources. Something interesting is that the game has automatic hardware detection to know what configuration of automatic graphics to use on our computer, however, we can also modify.

According to my experiences, I always recommend leaving the automatic configuration of graphics that gives us an automatic adjustment system, since to be able to enjoy the game well, it is necessary to play it fluently, even if we have to get rid of some special effect.

For the year of release, it was expected that the video game had better graphic quality, without doubt the graphics are not a strong factor with F.E.A.R., since most of the games that were announced the same year have better graphics, an example of that is Half life 2, where the video game shows some impressive graphics for the year it was announced.

Environment


Regarding the environment, lighting and scenarios, it could be said that they are not of poor quality, despite not being what was expected, they really have details that could be considered admired. The variety of scenarios is not so wide, so the game becomes repetitive, since it is oriented to an Asian environment.

A good point are the micro movies (paranormal scenes) that appear from nowhere while we are playing, really those horror scenes are quite good, they are the ones that produce terror within the videogame. In addition to that, it has quite realistic scenarios, since the real actions that occur when detonating, bombing or shooting walls, have a natural reaction.

Characters


Here really there are many things to question, because literally the characters are poorly worked at the level of design and graphics, since they literally look like plastic dolls, especially super soldiers. I think they have a more fictitious than human appearance, and that is something that does not favor much, since it is a video game of survival.

On the other hand, the effect of the bleeding and the shots that the characters produce, if they are aspects that should be appreciated, since the video game is quite graphic when we talk about bleeding, we can continue shooting at what is already dead, since they do not disappear when they die.

The sound in F.E.A.R. It's pretty good, in addition to having a quite amazing soundtrack, the sounds of the shots, the bombs and everything that your game produces are very good. It can be said that one of the reasons why F.E.A.R. It is very entertaining, it is because it manages to cover a series of effects and a variety of fairly wide sounds, from the environment to the ones we produce while playing.
