Circle Empires - Indie Gaming with Hostile Takeovers

This is probably one of my favorite games, and I have found myself addicted to it. It is a interesting take on empire games. The objective being that you start small, and takeover the rest of the map. However, the rest of the map is made out of circles.

There are plenty of options to play with. There are two modes as of right now, and those are vs monsters and vs computer players. When you play vs monsters, the monsters are leveled up to be on par with the other civilizations/kingdoms. With vs computer players, the emphasis is on the other kingdoms, and you can choose how many there are.

I have found that, even on hard, vs computers tends to be easier than vs monsters.

I did vs monsters for this time. These are the options you get presented with after selecting it. The difficulty is rather self explanatory, and the names actually go well with the levels. I can beat nightmare pretty consistently, but impossible was pretty much impossible until recently.

The map size is how many circles there will be. Ranging from a grid of 4, 9, and up. Finally, you can choose whether to take-over the entire map, or just hunt down the boss.

Starting out, you get two workers and some resources. Workers are general units that collect resources from the circles.

After placing the mandatory building, the rest is completely up to the player. There are fighting units along the top of the screen, and buildings when you click on the store house, master worker (leveled up worker), and leveled up healer.

The next door neighbors to me this time were aquatic.

After building some forces up, and getting everything prepared, I was ready to start claiming circles. This first one was not by choice, I was attacked, but I ended up winning anyways. It was nice to get this circle, as it contained gold to collect. Some units can only be bought with gold.

If you ever get next to zombies, they seem to like to attack quickly, but they are not incredibly difficult.

On the other hand, goblins can be catastrophic if you don't manage to take out the large round ones. They can attack an area instead of one unit.

And of course, wars with the other kingdoms come commonly. Especially towards the ends of the games. They usually have pretty heavily stocked circles though, and on high difficulties, contain boss units.

This is a wonderful game, and when it comes out on steam I am definitely going to get it.
