STEEM Geek Podcast Episode#4 - 5 Games that We Need Remastered!

in #gaming7 years ago

Hey, Steemians!

Another episode about gaming today!

There are so many games that contributed to our wonderful childhood and have stuck with us til adulthood! Many of which we would replay again given the chance. What would really sweeten the experience though would be if those games were remastered. And why not? So many games have gotten the remastered touch. Games like FFVII, FFIX, FFX&X-2 Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil, and a bunch more. Heck, even Final Fantasy 7 is getting a REMAKE!

So here are the games that we would LOVE to see remastered!

Number 1

Demon Stone(Bran's Pick)

Source
Set in the Fantasy world of Faerun, Demon Stone is a third person action game that allows you to switch between three different character who are on a quest to defeat two evil ancient beings or risk having their world destroyed! Story is written by best selling author, R.A Salvatore.

Final Fantasy VIII(Bee Yen's Pick)

Source
Teenagers that trained in a military school that band up together to fight the evil sorceress, Ultimecia, in old school RPG turn based fashion! If that's not enough for you then just go ahead and check out the intro cinematic!

Number 2

Onimusha 3(Bran's Pick)

Source
Another game that is well known for its opening cinematic sequence, Onimusha is a classic PS2 action game that will bring out your inner samurai and er.....your inner French policeman? Characters' likeness are taken from Hong Kong/Japanese star, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and French born Hollywood actor, Jean Reno.

Chrono Cross(Bee yen's Pick)

Source
Although not part of the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Cross is beloved by all RPG fans for it's very interesting world and it's many different characters. It's also got one of the best music in all of gaming! Check out the opening cinematic. You'll know!

Number 3

God Hand(Bran's Pick)

Source
Basically a PS2 game that's made to resemble an anime in all the extreme ways. In God Hand, you walk and run around to battle a never ending supply of henchmen, including a very small group of "Power Rangers".

Diablo 2(Bee Yen's Pick)

Source
"Stay awhile and listen"! Ah, the sweet inviting words that can be heard uttered by Deckard Cain as your characters enter town. Diablo 2 is one of the best co-op games in gaming history and it was this very game that got me "grinding" for set items for my character so that I can kill stronger demons which in turn allowed me to grind even harder for better items :)

Number 4

Prince of Persia : Sands of Time(Bran's Pick)

Source
A classic Ps2 game remade based on a classic pc game, you play the prince who wields the Sands of time which enables you to manipulate........wait for it......You GUESSED IT! TIME! It's a really cool game that if executed well makes you look like grade A assassin just on another killing job. And if you're me, you end up using the sands of time all wrong end up watching your inevitable death over and over again as each use of the sands gets shorter and shorter.

Parasite Eve(Bee Yen's Pick)

Source
The Squaresoft(rest in peace) game that wasn't really an RPG that gave gamers all around the world a severe phobia of opera and theaters. You play as Aya Brea, a cop from New York who is the sole survivor of a massive fire in Carnegie Hall started by the lady only known as Eve. The game is a cross between an action game and an RPG which makes for a very interesting and different experience as far as gaming goes.

Number 5

Metal Gear Solid(Bran's Pick)

Source
Imagine James Bond if he took his job seriously and stopped bedding women every two hours or walking around the streets telling everyone his name. I mean, Snake's team mates do a great job of that already by yelling his name out every single time you die.EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. All jokes aside, MGS is really a one of a kind classic. It had a solid(no pun intended)story line and great replay value. It was this gem of a game that really showcased gaming's capability to tell a story in a cinematic way.

Grandia(Bee Yen's Pick)

Source
Just a 14 year old boy with dreams and goals of becoming a great adventurer/traveler along with his trusty sidekick Sue who carries around her pet......thing......poofy. And on the way, they bump into the obvious love interest, Feena, the attractive young and experienced adventurer. Another successful RPG during the PS1 era that was not name Final Fantasy. And they also had voice actors that greatly added charm and personality to their characters where other RPGs did not.

Thanks for listening!
