I'd build a small pirate ship a bit off the island too :)
I bet you can now build a small ship in that shore too even if it doesn't do anything it would look cool
Checked some videos online some guys built stuff under water and others also built things up high in the sky like orbital stations and stuff

Theres been plenty of updates since to NMS
