ARK Survival Evolved - Review

I have been playing this game for about a month and so far it is really addictive and the graphics are very realistic. For the people that do not know what this game is, you start off by creating your character that you can either play online with people or on a private server. You gather items to build things such as a house or boat, but what I consider the best part of the game is that you can tame all sorts of dinosaurs by gathering berries and feeding them.
Rating: 4/5 star I would give it 5 stars but since it is a new game it has a lot of glitches. It is a very addictive game!!
Did you play on Official or on a custom server? My partner and I had a good time playing on our own local server, just trying to survive and generally being fools. After we tried Official PVP servers and joined a big tribe and made some friends through it but it became too demanding and our tribe got backstabbed by a member and it turned out there was also an inside agent in our group for MONTHS as well to top it all off (not related to that incident though). Loved the game itself but there's a lot at stake in pvp if you get raided since they might kill and destroy everything that was worth hours and even days of work, plus the amount of politics etc is a bit ott. Made some good friends and parts of our time on Official was quite fun, but it became too much work and a lot of politics, backstabbing and bullshit (everything we did is gone anyway though as that was pre-full release and they destroyed those servers). Love it as a more casual relaxed game though. We got Aberration and we'll be playing that together sometime, and we are considering perhaps getting an online server for it if they are cheap just as a more survival based one (you can set it up so PVP kills players but doens't destroy things so that might be fun...) so I'm not over the game itself. The game is good but the politics of Official PVP isn't something I need from my leisure time.
I’ve only played on a private survor. Me and my fiancé would play it on split screen. We created our own little tribe, tamed a bunch of dinosaurs, made a bunch of cute buildings. I’m thinking about trying PVP, I’m just trying to beat so many games at the moment. Lol
Fair enough. Yeah it is fun as a couple's game. We had quite a bit of fun just fooling around on our own local server with just the two of us. Like I said my experience with PVP is mixed but we made some friends out of it, so that's cool. Another game we have found good as a coop game is Astroneer. We didn't give this one as much time as Ark but it is fun. I've done it with my nephew before as well and he enjoys it too.
