Pokémon GO Halloween 2018

Do you feel a change in the breeze? A chill down your spine? That's because Pokémon GO's Halloween event is back for a spooky good time! Some of the Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, such as Drifloon and Stunky, are making their way into the game to join in on the fun! Starting October 23 through November 1.

Earlier during the day I went into the shop and saw that the special boxes were gone again. Kinda glad as I wasn't interested in the items and amounts of them that were available. With the event some new clothing apparel featuring Ghost-type Pokémon have been added to the Style Shop. I decided to go to the store and see if any new boxes showed up then too.

There are indeed new boxes showing up in the store now! They have the items I was looking for! I was starting to run out on Lucky Eggs and Incense so I wanted to restock them, but prefer doing so with a box with other items. The previous box had Star Pieces and Lure Modules alongside Raid Passes and Super Incubators. There were only 6 Raid Passes in the Ultra Box before. This one has 12 of them and 10 Super Incubators. So I didn't hesitate and immediately clicked on the exchange button as these were the items I was looking for, with a proper amount of raid passes too!

Drifloon and Stunky are now appearing in the wild for the first time. Other Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon appear much more frequently now too with the Halloween event. For Drifloon the Shiny form has made it into the game right away too and thus has a chance to appear.

I went out right after reading the announcement and managed to come across several Drifloon and Stunky already. From some Pokéstops I received a new Field Research quest focusing on the Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon as I only completed some that gave a wild spawn as a reward before the event was live. I found a quest to catch 5 Houndoor or Poochyena! The event is also featuring double candy on catching Pokémon. Pikachu with the witch hat has returned as well, so be sure to look out for it if you don't have it yet! Pichu with a witch hat can be found in 2km eggs received after the event went live.

Professor Willow needs help with a limited-time Special Research quest. This quest will feature the Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon Spiritomb! As the quest is limited it will most likely disappear when the Halloween event is over on November 1. I started the quest when I went out earlier to catch some Pokémon for the event already. I'll write about the quest later.

The Ghost- and Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon, Giratina, from the Sinnoh region will start appearing in Raid Battles with the start of the Halloween Event too. As the event went live at 10pm my time there are no Raids here anymore. So I'll have to wait until tomorrow to have a chance at seeing a Giratina Raid. These Giratina Raids will stay through November 20 rather than leaving when the Halloween event is over. So there will be plenty of time to attempt Giratina Raids!
