Mewtwo back in Raids and can be Shiny now!

Since yesterday at 1 pm PDT Mewtwo has returned to level 5 Raids as part of the 3rd week of the Ultra Bonus celebration. It will stay as a Raid boss for one week, until Monday September 16 at 1 pm PDT. Where I live that is at 10 pm so there are rarely any Raids left here. Therefor it was today that I did my first Mewtwo Raid since its return to Raids. Some people in my group had done some Raids throughout the day already, but I missed those. More towards the evening there was one at the train station and a group of people were interested in doing it, so I went there too.

I can't quite remember if the last time Mewtwo was in Raids it also had over 60,000 CP. Then again they did increase most Raid Bosses' stamina a while ago, so its CP is definitely higher than the last time it was in Raids. We had planned to do the Raid just past the hour mark, and the weather in game changed to Windy, giving a boost to Psychic-types and thus making the Mewtwo Raid Boss boosted too. We could still beat it with over half the time left. When I went into the encounter I was eye to eye with a Shiny Mewtwo! This is the first time I ever encounter a Shiny Legendary with the first Raid that I do! Which was really nice! :D

The capture itself is guaranteed for a Shiny Raid Boss, so it's great to throw a Pinap Berry for some extra candy as it will be a guaranteed capture anyway. Despite that it still took me 4 throws to capture it. Because the first two throws it attacked right when I threw my curveball, and the 3rd time it jumped up. But I like to miss some throws on purpose anyway when it's guaranteed catch. Then I checked the IVs and it turns out that it's a 93% IV with 14 in every stat, that's great! :D

Tomorrow there should be a Legendary Raid Hour from 6 pm to 7 pm local time, so I'm definitely going to try and do some Raids with the group during that hour then, for a chance at a 100% IV and perhaps another Shiny!
