Gastly Community Day recap
Today the monthly Community Day took place, featuring Gastly. I wasn't that excited for the Community Day, as Shiny Gastly has already been part of the game for a while and Gengar has received its fair share of exclusive moves already in Gengar Raid Days. Having a Community Day means Gengar got yet another exclusive move. This Community Day move for Gengar is the Charged Attack, Shadow Punch. It's one of the possible moves Haunter can learn, but for Gengar is was not an option until this Community Day. Being a Ghost-type attack makes it have more potential on Gengar than other exclusive moves it received in the past like Psychic. So that is at least nice!
Before today I already had a Shiny Gastly that I hatched from an egg quite some time ago, and I already have several Shiny Gengar from the Gengar Raid Day and one with a Party Hat as well from when Gengar and Nidorino with Party Hats were available in Raids.
That's why I didn't feel like playing that much today, and decided to play for around 2 hours of the event. It would give me the chance to get some more Shiny Gastly and perhaps some good ones, while also not spending too much time on it due to already having some 100% IVs and Shinies.
I managed to get several extra Shiny Gastly today, here is a picture of some of the encounters.
In total I was able to catch 8 Shiny Gastly today. This next picture shows all 8 of the ones I caught today, as well as the Shiny Gastly I already had from an egg hatch and the Shiny Gengar that I've had.
Now I may have had Shiny Gastly and Shiny Gengar before today's Community Day. But because all the Gengar were caught from Raids, it means I didn't have Shiny Haunter in my Pokédex yet. So during some trades with a friend we also traded a Shiny Gastly to see if we could get a better one. It was a 2 star one we both got from the trade, so not really that good considering it was worse than the one I hatched a while back. Therefor I chose to evolve that one to Shiny Haunter to get it in the Pokédex and then transfer it. Here you can see the evolution process.
Out of the trades we got 4 Lucky Gastly. The best one was a 96% with 15 Attack and 15 Defense. That's slightly better than the best Gastly I caught today. As I was able to catch a 15 Attack, 13 Defense and 14 HP Gastly in the wild today. Because of this Lucky Gastly I decided to transfer that other one as this one was slightly better. I decided to evolve it to Gengar, just in case I could make some use of the Shadow Punch Gengar at some point. It's better to have it in case I could use it, than to need it later and not have one. You can see that Lucky one in this picture.
The other 3 Lucky Gastly were not as good so I transferred them. The same goes for the Gastly that did not become Lucky.
For not playing that much I still got a nice amount of extra Shiny Gastly that I could trade if someone ever wants one, for example in a special trade.
How did your Gastly Community Day go?
