NEON DISTRICT - a new game on the blockchain
Hey you Steemians out there, hope you all are doing well! Actually, I'm not the big gambler of games, but whenever it comes to SCI-FI or cyberpunk, I get a little scrutiny and have to take a closer look, because I am always a bit excited fot this genres. That's the way I am at the moment with NextColony - a game that will be playable here on Steem and produced by @oliverschmid and his team. Check it out! It will be playable via mobiles :-)
But this article is not about NextColony, but about NEON DISTRICT - a new game by Blockade games scheduled to launch in May.
So what is Neon District about?
Neon District plays the cyberpunk genre in a dystopian future, in which an autocratic and mechanical government called the Mainspring tries in a totalitarian way to subjugate the people; to suppress independent thinking and individual autonomy. This government faces a rebellion that hides in subterranean cities and opposes the perfidious system. The rebels - the so-called Degens - build their own equipment and try to regain control by means of various weapon systems. So much for the story of the game in a shortened version.
The game itself runs on the Etherium blockchain (unfortunately not on the Steem blockchain...) and more specifically on the Loom DAppchain. It uses a token that gives players a unique way to collect, level up, accumulate and to trade.

In addition to many RPG elements, Neon District is a fighting game that brings more experience through winning. You can, of course, obtain items that are defined as collectibles. Likewise, new equipment can be made by using base materials - so rare items can be developed that can be sold on an internal market. New equipment changes the characters optically and also in their way of fighting. If you look at the current pictures, then Neon District can definitely be seen in terms of design! Something that makes all the games on Blockchain so great is the fact that you really own the items. In contrast to other games from centralized offerings such as e.g. Blizzard.
How can you get into the game?
On March 26th there will be a kind of ICO via OpenSea, where you can buy so-called loot boxes. BUT there is also a possibility to get FREE items and join the game. For this you just have to mail the current KEY WAITING LIST.
