The hype is building for Axie Infinity, and with good reason, closed beta testing of Axie battles is about to begin. For those who don't know, Axie Infinity is game centered around raising these unique, cute little characters called Axies. Collecting and breeding Axies has been available for some time but this will be our first opportunity to actually use them in battle.

Assemble a team of three Axies and bring them to battle against other players. Each Axie has a different set of abilities and stats providing for a wide range of tactics. Check out this official post about Axie Battles made by the dev team, for a quick recap of what you should consider when building your team.

If you are interested in starting your own Axie squad head over to the official website and take a look around. Side note; will need the Meta Mask browser extension(or something like it) installed to interface with Ethereum Network. Adoption of Axies is verified by blockchain technology, giving players full digital ownership of their team.

If you think you missed the boat on this, don't worry, it is not too late. Axies are available for purchase at the site's marketplace. But remember, the key to get into the closed beta is having at least one Origin Axie, like the one on the left in the above picture. Having an Origin in your wallet when beta starts will give you the ability to test out all of your Axies in battle.

"What if I get an Origin Axie, but not until after beta testing has started?" you ask. Again, don't worry, the devs got you covered. You will still be able to participate in the closed beta, but with test-net Axies instead of your own. Either way, it will be a great experience and really give some insight into the best ways to assemble your Axie team.
