Sea of Thieves
Yo, ho! Yo, ho! It's a pirate's life for me!
Announced back in 2015 at E3, Sea of Thieves is a co-operative multiplayer action-adventure oriented game being developed by Rare and published by Microsoft Studios. It's set to be released for Xbox and Windows sometime in 2018.
With a first-person perspective of the world, the player joins a crew of friends that set sail across different seas and islands, hunting for treasures, battling rival players, fighting creatures, or just exploring the distant horizon.
It's a co-op game, meaning that each crew member assumes different roles such as firing the ship's cannons, navigation, hosting sails and steering. Players will also be able to play or sing pirate/sea songs, drink Grog and be cannon-propelled up through the air, which sounds fun. The number of crew members is yet to be determined and Rare is still testing different options.
According to the website, theres going to be ship customisation, which is and awesome feature, but is not yet implemented. The cartoonish art style looks fun and I hope they manage to deliver fantastic gameplay to go with the looks. One thing I'm not too keen on at all is the Windows Store only availability for us PC gamers which is just a way for Microsoft to force people into using it.
Yay, you've reached this far! Take a look at the Gameplay Walkthrough video presented at this year's E3.
