Nice animation! I prefer the one with real color because that way I can see the yellow and figure easily that those are dunes.
It is stop Motion. The way the jump worked you can see in the last picture. It is a variable brick with a 1x6 plate to help him "flying".
The more often I watch it the more I like the yellow one, too.
