The New Battle Theme from Persona 5 Royal

in #gaming5 years ago (edited)

"Take Over" is the new battle teme for the upcoming game Persona 5 Royal, the improved version of Persona 5 about which I talked in this other post. The song will play during battles where we manage to take the enemies by surprise and start with an advantage.

The song was featured in all promotional trailers for the main characters, like for example, the trailer for the character Haru Okumura, who some fans complained that she didn't have enough screentime in the original game before she joined the party. The trailer is below (in Japanese, with English subtitles by a fan, user Lettuce Sauce on YouTube, for the lack of an official English version at the moment).

We watch the trailers, and begin wanting to listen to the song without the characters talking in the background, to listen to the whole song... but the soundtrack won't come out until the game does, that'll be October 31, 2019 in Japan, in the CD that comes with the limited edition.

However, on July 31, 2019, there was a Japanese livestream (released by the Persona official account through Periscope), where they showed a bit of the new gameplay elements, and one of the producers answered fan questions (by the way, the song that keeps looping before the livestream begins is the new opening song, "Colors Flying High," and is very nice too!). At the end of the stream, after the hosts stopped talking, we could finally have a listen to the song "Take Over" in its entirety. Fans wasted no time and were quick to extract the song out of the stream, and one of them (user Olivian on YouTube) even went as far as to extend it to play nonstop for 30 minutes! As this version loops seamlessly and is the best one I found, it's the one I go to when I want to listen to the song. This should hold us over until the game and the actual soundtrack are released.

This song is copyright Atlus, composed by Shoji Meguro, lyrics are by Lotus Juice (not Benjamin Franklin like most others), and vocals are by Lyn Inaizumi.

My son is a real fan of the Persona series. I'll be sure to show him this post. Meanwhile, I'm heading over to the Toss Up post to give you an upvote.

Really!? Cool! You could show him my previous Persona post too... but if he's a big fan, then chances are that he knows all this already hahaha.

Thank you for the votes, and I'd still like to make more Persona posts! I just need some ideas of what Persona things to talk about...
