Oddyssus Kosmos and His Robot Quest (Demo ver.) - A Game That Fouces on Puzzles and Gameplay

This demo tells a story about lazy engineer who got trapped in his room. An original chapter for the yet unreleased game with the same name.

I first knew about this from a steam group I'm member in... The developer started a giveaway for the game, the winner will receive it when it releases. But for the time being you can play the demo as it offers an original chapter that won't be in the full game.

Oddyssus Kosmos

This game puts you in shoes on Oddy, and engineer in San Francisco, a spacecraft traveling far from earth... The Developers said they wanted to create "A game focuses on puzzles and "smart gameplay".... It also has a humorous side and it's all apparent in this demo.

Oddy in the demo is the only engineer in the spaceship. living for years alone with his robot friend Barton... he uses his brain to maintain the ship... But he long lost his motivation... One day Barton wakes him up, and he finds himself trapped in the room and the only way to get out is to fix things he was supposed to fix months ago!!

The developers even have a dev-dairy in the steam news section, where they tell gamers about how they create the game. It's fun if you're at least remotely interested in #gamedev.

Gameplay

This game plays like any retro(-styled) point-and-click adventure game. you look at things, pick up items and use them.

The chooses for each item are simple... "eye" (examine?) and "hand" (use)... Doing the same action gives you the same remarks from Oddy, But he has a lot to say for every different action and his words can be huge hints.

But the game is too linear, this isn't bad for this demo cause it make it seem like Oddy likes to do things in order, even if he has a procrastinating personality. (I probably should learn something from him).

For the sake of puzzles, some parts of the game has different game-play than normal.

Interesting Puzzles

The puzzles in this demo are interesting and follow each other perfectly... they also give you a huge sense of achievement when you figure out how to assemble the pieces, the last few games were either too hard or too easy for me for this to happen.

Some puzzles can be hard... I needed my knowledge about digital systems to solve one of them, I don't know if there was a hint in-game to solve it but I didn't find any. One time, the "hint" button told me to ask on Facebook. (It's a good joke for a demo but I hope it doesn't stay in the full version.)

The demo took me an hour and half to finish. But it can be finished in 10-20 minutes if you know the solution for all the puzzles already.

Perfect for Adventure Game Lovers

I'd recommend to this game Demo for adventure game lovers. It offers everything good in an adventure game. I won't recommend it for people who'd want fast paced games.
