ahmadmanga's Gaming's Daily #1: The Cry of the Higurashi

After few days and no posts, I decided to write daily posts for a while, about the games I play... These will probably be short posts like this one.

So I've been playing the Sound Novel: Higurashi: When They Cry. I'm still at the first chapter "Onikakushi"

With all the commotion about the game, I thought it would've been way darker.

But it's fun!!

The characters are interesting to read too: Mion is a manipulative club president.
Rena is the Kyuuute obsessed girl.
Sotoko is mischievous child.
Rika is just "off" but in a mature and cute way.
and finally....
Keiichi the guy who is needed to play the jokes of the four girls.

One of the interesting things is that this story happens in fictional place in japan 1980s which makes many of the references and conversations quite old and nostalgic.

I like how the game gives you extra scenes called TIPS.

Unlike the main story which shows the protagonist's everyday life.TIPS are scenes not ordered chronically and are from various perspectives (only some of them include Keiichi)... The most obvious difference is: They're called Tips because they should help the player (me) to solve the darkest secret of the game... whatever it is.

Well... I just reached the dark parts and I don't know what will happen from now on.

Especially the characters.... I don't want anyone to die.

The novel is written in a way that seems like horror story, but most of the suspense the main character creates for himself turns out unnecessary. But the town is darker place than he thought...

And the curse might kill someone this night...

Ah forgot, Higurashi means cicadas ~ and the post was longer than I thought.
