  • Remove useless
Throughout the game, you will take a lot of material scattered in the world NieR: Automata. Most of the items you can sell make money, if you're not sure which items or materials you should sell, look at the description on the item that says 'Can be exchanged for money'. Items with descriptions you can sell to earn money. It's easy to upgrade materials like Crystal and Copper Ore. You can only store a maximum of 99 for each item in NieR: Automata, so if your inventory is full, sell some of your items or materials.

  • Upgrade Pod

Your pod is the most important part of NieR: Automata. Pods can fire a bullet towards a predetermined target of the enemy. Not only that, Pod can also issue a special skill. When you first own a Pod, the resulting damage is not so great, but you can upgrade it to make it stronger. Go to the vendor in Bunker to buy the Pod program and upgrade the Stat. If you do not want to go to Bunker, you can also go to Resistance Camp which provides Pod Upgrade.

The material needed to upgrade Pods is usually quite rare, if you can not upgrade your Pod yet, do not worry. Some Pod programs vary widely and can be used for most situations. For example, the first Pod program you get is Laser Blast, but you can buy other programs that can generate AOE damage, match your Pod program according to the style of play you like.

The first thing you should do with Chips is to increase Chip Storage capacity. You can do it in the Bunker Terminal or Resistance Camp. The cost of upgrading Chip capacity starts from 8,000 G, certainly this cost will continue to increase.

Some useful Chips at the beginning of your play include EXP Gain Up, Auto-Use, Auto-Heal, and Item Drop Rate Up. For example, the EXP Chip indicates an increasing level, the stronger your character, the Auto-Use Chip is a Chip that uses one Item Recovery automatically while your HP is critical whereas Item Drop Rate Chip is a Chip that can increase Item Drop from the defeated enemy .

Chips can be purchased through one of the Vendors in the Resistance Camp. One important thing you need to know, when Devola and Popola have appeared in Resistance Camp, check their stock. Usually they sell very useful Chip like Overclock (slow down time when you avoid enemy attack) or Auto-Collect (automatically pick up the items around you). Emil also provides a variety of good Chip but with a relatively expensive price.

  • Learn Map Properly

It's not an easy task to read the Map on NieR: Automata, but if you learn it well and can use it, the Map will be one of the most useful tools. Before using the Map efficiently, you need to enable some Access Points. Access Point is useful for Save Game or Fast Travel. When you activate Access Point, you will open new info in your Map.

  • Pray, Retrieve, Repair

NieR: Automata does not have Auto-Save feature, so if you die, you will repeat from the last Access Point. If you die, do not forget to choose the 'Retrieve' option of your body, because when you die, the Chip you have got will disappear forever unless you have done Retrieve.

If you play online, you can find other player's body. There are three things you can do, Pray, Retrieve and Repair. The Pray option can restore your full HP as usual, the Retrieve option can provide 3 Random Effects, while Repair allows the body to follow and assist you in battle (within specified time limits).
