When you reach out to folks on Steemit, try to convey something helpful or constructive. If all else fails, just find content you like and tell the author why you like their work. Might I also add, in my humble amateur opinion, that plugging your content in almost every comment you leave is not going to earn you much favor from the author community. If you put yourself out there in positive and productive way, folks will naturally visit your page to see what you're about. Hope that helps :)
