Super Mario Bros Ported to TI-99/4A Retro Computer

in #games8 years ago

The Super Mario Bros game is iconic. It is the one game that arguably set Nintendo up for the success they had in later years. There are millions of fans the world over. Some of those fans are quite capable at programming. That is how we have this, a port in progress of Super Mario Bros for the Texas Instruments 99/4A retro computer.

Things are not perfect, as you can see in the video above. The animation is a little slow on the coins you collect from coin boxes. In the first pipe room (full of coins) you won’t yet see the coins shimmering. The little details like that are still to be added but that is fine as this is a work in progress.

This is not a stock TI-99/4A though as this one uses the F18a video upgrade. Still, this is quite impressive to see running.
What is your favorite fan port of Super Mario Bros?
