Sonic Time Twisted Released After 12 Years of Development

Fans of homebrew titles will want to check this one out. We are talking about a 2D Sonic the Hedgehog game but it was note created by Sega. Rather, a fan created this homage of sorts. Starting in 2005, Sonic Time Twisted is absolutely a labor of love for the developer – they certainly cannot profit from it as Sega owns Sonic and would not allow that.

Overbound Game Studio developed Sonic Time Twisted by t taking elements from various Sonic games. The main Sonic sprite is apparently from Sonic 3 with the level idea coming from Sonic CD (time travel). I am all for taking the best parts and mixing them into a new game.

Sonic Time Twisted features eight stages with twenty-eight acts. Fans can grab this game right now from the Overbound website.
