Hidden Object Time Crimes on Android Review
Hidden object games are quite popular. This is especially true on mobile platforms – it seems gamers want to stare even more intently at their screens. Time travel is always a good storyline to run with, just look at what that story crutch did for Michael J. Fox’s career. Hidden object games are just that, hidden object hunts for objects in the scene you are looking at. Hidden Object Time Crimes brings time travel into the hidden object world and it is quite good.
Hidden Object Time Crimes tells the story of a criminal, or someone dastardly, that is changing things throughout history. Cast in the position to help a group of researchers and detectives, you must help make things right again. This is possible thanks to the ancient time machine - it is dusty and in a different language – and appears to have fallen off the set of Stargate. You can move to different time periods, even the future, and while there must find various artifacts, clues, and even meet with people.
First, Hidden Object Time Crimes is a free game which when it comes to mobile games, is free as in “you will be stuck at some point and have to pay to continue”. Yes, there are In-App Purchases, at this point it almost seems pedestrian to even mention them when reviewing a free Android game. They are going to be there as the developer/publisher is obviously not releasing games out of the goodness of their hearts.
Okay, now that we have the IAP notice out of the way, let’s discuss the fun stuff. You have to scour the scenes for the artifacts and clues that are listed at the bottom of the screen. Some of these are dead easy obvious while others are not so easily found. A hint, when it is asking for you to find the “comet” they mean this thing:
That one stumped me for quite a while and cost me a hint power.
As you play, you can replenish your energy, seemingly sporadically, from discovering items in the levels or gaining enough experience to gain a level. Otherwise your energy is replenished by waiting or paying (one of the many ways the In-App Purchases pop up – though not annoyingly). You can also purchase powerups like hints and similar.
Hidden Object Time Crimes is one of the better hidden object games I have played on mobile. I play a lot of these on PC but have instinctively skipped them on mobile due to only having a cell phone to play on. I recently bought an 8 inch tablet and well, that opens new avenues of entertainment.

This looks like a pretty good game genre to play on phones :)
I am so happy to not have a mobile :)
