This was definitely a favorite of ours when we were growing up. Sure, the graphics are simple and the gameplay doesn't have a lot of options. That's what makes it fun -- you can pick up and play and have fun right away. Its why Double Dribble is still fun. Its why Tecmo Bowl is still fun. Modern games are great if you get invested into them enough to learn all the nuance required, but with Ice Hockey all you needed was picking your balance of speed and power and have fun.
