Stonehaven Miniatures Review
I have supported several Kickstarter campaigns by Stonehaven Miniatures, and have been quite impressed with the quality of the products this mom-and-pop outfit produces. Their sculpts are visually distinct from those produced by other companies, with a slightly cartoonish design that still never quite seems too over-the-top.
Gnome Pirate painted by the author. Don't let my painting detract from the sculpting quality.
Most Stonehaven models are cast in a tin alloy, except for [larger creatures](except large trolls and giants) cast in resin. The lines of dwarves, half-orcs, elves, halflings, and gnomes provide a wide array of options for any role-player, whether you need a character for Dungeons and Dragons, GURPS, Savage Worlds, or anything else. There are also a lot of other creatures that are harder to broadly categorize.
If you want a mini that reminds you that games and painting are supposed to be fun, Stonehaven is your friend. After all, most role-playing games descend into silliness anyway, so why not use a mini that has a mischievous smirk?
The Stonehaven miniatures do have a certain charm... very unique sculpts. Also, nice paint job on the miniature displayed in your post @jacobtothe !
Thanks! They are about to ship the products from their Kickstarter Giants campaign, and wrapped up another adventurers set a while back too. Keep an eye out for opportunities to join whatever they do next!
