“Cloud Strife” Final Fantasy 7 - Day 11

This is still one of my all time favorite drawings as well as video game characters. Cloud Strife is the main protagonist of the 1997 hit, Final Fantasy VII (FF7). Cloud is a mercenary fighting with the resistance group AVALANCHE, in order to stop Shinra Co. from draining the planets life energy.
The sketch I made (first picture) is a composite of 3 different pictures of #cloud. The primary photo is of Cloud as he is mounted on the Hardy-Daytona motorcyle. At this point in the game, AVALANCHE has successfully infiltrated Shinra Co. And are now trying to escape.
The 2nd portion of my drawing comes from the #ff7 video game cover photo. In this picture, you can see Cloud standing in front of Shinra headquarters after a heroing ordeal getting there. The nostalgia of the headquarters and the way it illuminates the background was a must for me to include.
The most iconic part of my drawing was including Cloud’s Buster Sword. The #bustersword is a 5-6 foot long broadsword. The original motorcycle picture has Cloud holding the Rune Blade by his side.
At this point in my drawing career, I realized that I am not the most skilled at freehand. I am very good at recreating things however. Since Cloud usually just carries the Buster Sword on his back, I figured I’d depict him stopped on the highway, in front of Shinra Co., and showing off both swords under the moonlight.
