Have you ever played a full game of chess?

There is that one thing that you did so many times that you weren't even aware is one of the backbones for living a satisfactory life.
From the very first move in chess to the last move, a player is faced with lots of possibilities, how he filters to his best choices, he knows better.
You see it's not as easy as it sounds, the more the possibilities of playing a move the harder it becomes for one who is playing chess.

Let's talk about the first move in chess.

A professional chess player has mastered more than 50 chess openings with their different variations. When he choses to play the first move, it means he has taken a side of a particular opening. But that's just the begining. Because he has more options for the next move.
That means when he plays e4 as his first move, he can play the ruy lopez, sicilian, french, caro-kann and so on. This is the point, as much as he has to choose from his own repertoire, his oponent influences his moves as well. That makes chess even more interesting.

Faced with many possible moves, one always has to decide what move to play. A move to prioritize before other moves, a second move in the sequence and so on.
One has to be able to trust his decisions, one has to believe in his judgement of the position. One has to accept his perception about his opponents plan.

So what is that important skill we learn from chess?

You guessed it.
It's an essential skill for leadership.
It's a requirement for taking risks.
It's a great skill for healthy relationships.
It's a life skill for proper judgement.

Do you trust your guts?

Can you make unquestionable decisions?
How many times have you failed to decide what to eat for breakfast? or even failed to decide where to have dinner with your spouse?
In a typical day of an average person they make hundreds of decisions unknowingly. From whether to shower cold or warm water to when to start up a business. If one does neither of the decisions it's also their decision of not making a decision.

because not deciding is a decision itself.

So whenever we face life, we should always remember that it's like a chess game, the series of our choices add up to a specific result. We need to learn to trust our decisions. Let's just always do it. Let's live. Let's earn.
