Ubuntu: which distrubutive to choose which environment?

Distrubutes based for Ubuntu have a number of features such as:

1. Ubuntu "Has" a lot of computer memory
2. #1. Ubuntu is popular. It is the most popular Linux kernel distro.
3. Inside Ubuntu, including the Ubuntu store, there are commercial add-ons, plugins and applications.

I've never worked with Ubuntu, just its Mint fork. I will say more Richard Stalman did not recommend using Ubuntu. Bloggers gamers mention, sleduya distributions for games:
