Top 5 old games that I played as a kid.

in #game6 years ago

Hello Steemit :)

As a kid in the first half of '90, I loved playing games. My uncle, who once brought his computer to us, infected me. A classic PC with a "Turbo" button on the casing and a black and orange monitor :) Uncle as a student of course had several games in his "library". Later he regretted that he showed them to me because he could not tear me away from them. These were not games in which you could do "save", as you started to play it lasted for several hours. The level of difficulty was also much higher than in today's productions, so it took a lot of work to go to the next lvl :)

The first game I ever played was Prince of Persia. The goal in this game was to save the princess before time passes by the hourglass (60 min). There were many obstacles and opponents waiting along the way. As a 5-6 year old I barely reached level 3, but I loved this game anyway. Of course, I was scared every time I ran into the "spikes" or how the "choppers" cut me (every kid had his own strange names for items in games). The first time I was able to pass this game only as a teenager, but so far I think it is one of the best arcade games.

Memorable "fatty" on 6 lvl. I do not even know how many times I've finished the game on him :)

Another game that I played passionately was Prehistorik. In this game you played cavemen with a large club and our goal was to gather food for our family, killing numerous dinosaurs, teddy bears and bigger bosses along the way. I remember that I pressed in "spaces" with this game, that I probably smashed two keypads :)

The first "shooter" in which I played was of course Wolfenstein 3D. The game takes on the American agent William B.J. Blazkowicz, and our goal is to kill as many Nazis as possible, wandering through numerous mazes and discovering secret rooms. I remember that initially I was afraid to play it and I preferred to look like an older brother playing it, but later armed with a "pepedzuwa" (because that's what I called the best weapon) I even did quite well :)

I run into Gods a little bit later because I was 7-8 years old. In the game, we walk a gladiator throwing knives to various creatures. The level of difficulty in this game is very high and the riddles are not easy as well. Different sequences of strokes for levers give different effects, once a prize in the form of a key with a box, and once a trap. I've never been able to pass this game ...

My last favorite childhood game was First Samurai. Samurai fighting "karate" or with katana? Which kid would pass by indifferently? : P The game has 4 worlds (if I remember correctly) but I liked the most number 2, where we fought with enemies on a moving train. The level of difficulty was also quite high and I also never went through this game, besides the last world was too strange, because we fight with some robots, etc. Therefore, this game is in the 5th place.

In all of the games mentioned above, you can play for free online :D

Revisiting old childhood game is always a blast. I use to love playing Might and Magic VI. I was a console player NES and N64 till we got our first computer in the house. A family member was upgrading and they just gave it to us for free. Was nothing impressive enough to recall at the time I just played some downhill skiing game till we had better come along.

Wolfenstein 3d that has been forever since I’ve seen that. I can’t quite recall as it was far to early in my own childhood if that was exact version of that I played. I want to say the graphics ring a bell. I think I died over and over in that one but still had an amazing time. Games back than where hard but fun. Something todays stuff seems to be missing.

Exactly ;) Old games gave more fun or maybe we just grew out of it.

I don’t think we grew out of it as much as we just grew into other things. With more and more reasonability it’s hard to quantify gaming like the good old days. You also did not have that many games to compare it to. Games just seem to have evolved into the understand we don’t have as much free time as we use it. They at least understand there paying customers very well in that aspect. It just seems to be missing some of the old world charm.
