Inside: A dark mystery turned into a logical puzzle game
We were sent to test Inside for iOS version (7.99€) (also available in Steam and for PS4 and Xbox). It is a video game created by the creators of Limbo, which takes place in a dark and dark environment, and in which you have to solve logical puzzles for which there are few instructions: you learn while playing. Everything takes place in 2D scenarios with 3D touches, quite sober but elegantly designed.
Although little is said about the object of the game, just move a little bit with clicks on the screen to check that there is a lot of mystery in the story. The different obstacles are overcome with the objects that appear out there: if there is a fence, maybe you can move a rock to help you climb up; if there are guards, just wait a while and wait for the moment to mislead them; in some areas you can swim, and in others you can jump.
The story gets complicated with the appearance of different animals (which is more... strange) and then some characters in a kind of city? Office?, who behave like zombies. There are also gadgets such as a mind-control helmet, diving gear and so on. With so much touch of weird labs and a little creepy beings, the thing seems to drift into a Stranger Things-style story, which I don't know if they were inspired by it.
I'm not convinced by the touchscreen as a "video game controller," but once you get used to it, it becomes easy - and it doesn't have as many options. In any case, the game is entertaining and instead of music, it basically has background sound effects. It is quite relaxing... if the sound of drizzle and walking on dry leaves relax you.
Update - I said in the title that the game is "Stranger Things style", which gives you an idea of what it looks like... Although the game actually predates Stranger Things, even if only for a short time: it was released a week before the show's premiere.
