He was so fixed in his ways - in that song. I mean, think about it. Think about it right now. And now you're thinking about what it is. What is it? The it. The... it. The it is indeed, something special. Just flashes of pseudo-random imagination, bubbling in your mind. Let loose and your thoughts go astray. Focus, and you get to imagine anything up to the finest detail. Ways of life can be rigid. And better, ways of life can be flexible. Because your mind is like a quantum supercomputer. So which way is your superhighway?

Say.. why is the path of violent wars still a thing in this day and age? I don't consider downvotes / flags / crypto-economic penalties to be acts of violence. Far from it. At most, the act of repetitive downvotes / flags / penalties without ceasefire can only be characterised as non-violent abuse or malfunction.

Alright, to be fair there are two parts to the definition of violence, one of it being an emotional response:-

Violence #1: using or involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.

Violence #2: of an emotion or unpleasant or destructive natural force - very strong or powerful.

Response to Violence Type #1

Humanity is finally on its way to reducing the need for anyone to inflict physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something. Thanks to blockchain technology which is digitising an abundance of resources that we can consider to be real and truthful. Many different resources in different blockchain worlds at the moment, they're like parallel universes. So this will exponentially decrease our need to consume and destroy irreplaceable physical resources. Most acts of war, of violence comes from our need to acquire limited, old-world resources. Simply put, we don't really need to fight over food and oil all that much anymore - it will taper over time as we embrace renewable technologies and new world resources.

There will inevitably be stalemate situations which will cause negative feelings on certain individuals. Check the next section.

Response to Violence Type #2

There's really nothing stopping what people FEEL about anything at all. So it is up to each and everyone of us as individuals to figure out ways to be flexible enough to do things any other better way. For each other too, if possible. Flexibility of the mind is really the only way to resolve the problem, as ironic as it sounds. So yes, I remain that flags / downvotes / crypto-economic penalties are necessary for self-regulation if we are scarcity-based. The algorithm matters, but social discourse and mental flexibility are the only solutions.

Important note: It's best not to be in rigid ideological containers to allow for better flexibility. Walls and definitions are being broken all the time. I think many of us tend to draw erroneous analogies between the state / fiat / arbitrarily ordered game versus the individually empowered crypto-economic game. They're totally different games. For example: in a post-scarcity game world, theft is an impossible, incompatible definition.

Biggest obstacles for social sustainability in blockchain adoption

There will be an abundance of resources made possible by blockchain technology. However, we are still going to be navigating under scarcity-based economics, albeit in a relatively more peaceful playing field. Here are some of my opinions on key social sustainability issues that needs to be addressed:-

1. Death of blockchain projects

Anyone can come up with the most perfect technology ever, but there are many moving parts involved in the social sustainability of blockchain projects. There are too many elements over a period of time that may completely destroy usage of even the the most "perfect" platform. This may cause great capital losses for the unprepared. On the flipside, even crypto-economically weak projects may do much better if the marketing and FOMO factor is good, but unlikely to be sustainable.

Solutions: effective fund diversification, identity-portability, blockchain interoperability / parallelism, and voluntary community charities may be important to mitigate such a risk. Open-source.

2. Individual / group stalemates in blockchain projects

This will certainly be a universal situation for there to be individuals unfit for certain blockchain communities. Incompatibilities may occur - by code and / or social differences.

Solutions: effective fund diversification, identity-portability, blockchain interoperability / parallelism, and voluntary community charities may be important to mitigate such a risk. Open-source.

3. Lack of sizeable social adoption

This issue causes blockchain projects to lose out over time for a variety of reasons - lack of liquidity, lack of engineers, lack of marketers. It could also arise out of negligence / fraudulent actions / bad decisions. Ideally, there would be many different kinds of blockchain projects out there for different minds, and the technology should be part of our second nature. Individuals should have companion blockchain apps that empower them.

Solutions: flexible, crowdsourced marketing, engineering, and branding. Blockchain interoperability / parallelism. Open-source.
