Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

in #gam6 years ago (edited)

Hey again

So today instead of a drawing I wanna recommend a game that I recently finished playing. It's called Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and It's the sequel to the game Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc. i'm personally a big fan of the game , but It's a fairly violent and revolves around solving murders, so if you're not a fan of that kind of games it might not be for you. To understand the second game you need to have the story of the of the first game, but if you'd prefer to only play the second game (which in my opinion is the best) you can also just watch the anime version of the first game: Danganronpa: The Animation

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair takes place on a tropical island. You play as Hajime Hinata a high school student from the school hopes peak academy. He and his classmates are trapped on the island and are forced to murder each other. After every murder they have to figure out who the murderer is. If they guess right the murderer is executed if they guess wrong everyone except for the murderer is executed.

The game is based around a very basic structure, you have some free time where you can talk to you fellow classmates, give them gifts and get to know them, then someone gets murdered and the game goes into investigation mode, where you walk around and find clues about the murder and then when you've found all the clues the class trial begins where you use the "truth bullets" (the evidence you've gathered) to uncover the truth about your murdered classmate. You then proceed to the next chapter and repeat the circle. As the chapters proceed you slowly start to reveal the truth behind your stay at the island and how you got there.

The game structure is basically the same structure as the first game except for the fact that the first game took place at hopes peak academy. It might sound like it gets boring in the long term, but the underlying mystery of the main story and the differences in the murder mysteries keeps the games fun and interesting. Moreover the character in the game are all interesting, with fun personalities and talents, which makes it just that much worse when you find out your favourite character has been murdered or is the murderer that now has to be executed. The game is for obvious reasons best if you go into it without to much knowledge of the different murders or the plot. For that reason i would recommend not goggle searching characters or other things from the game while stilling playing, since spoilers for it is like everywhere.

whelp that's all for now, i will be back with drawings as soon as i can and if anyone has played one of the games I'd love to hear your opinion about it or who your favourite charters are ^^
