I am guessing based on looking at the others you have found with this issue that it may be intentional and tied to the percentage of SP involved compared to how much the person had independently outside of the delegated portion. In my case I have 1k SP and had 6K delegated, and had used it the day before down to 70%, trying to time it to be fully recharged in another hour from now for my post on my day off. I believe it is tied to how much rewards I gave out being so disproportional to what I normally would have had available. I could be wrong, but this has been my suspicions since I saw what happened.

That should not happen. It has to be another glitch.
The same person who delegated to you, removed the delegation to @familyprotection at the same time. I upvoted from that account afterwards and our Voting Power was the same as before.
This must be INCREDIBLY frustrating. I see that someone else has mentioned they have reported your glitch. I don't think that the damage done to you can be reversed though without waiting 5 days -- AGAIN!

I am thinking it may not be a glitch based on some of the others this happened to as well. I am thinking it may be tied proportionally to how much SP one personally holds opposed to the delegated amount. I was liberal the day before in handing out large upvotes (I love being able to thank people) and it was very disproportionate to what my 1k SP would allow. I think what may be happening is that when he took it back, the costs associated with those votes remained with me and he got his SP back the way he gave it to me.
Yes, it was a little frustrating to see myself nerfed again, lol. All I could do was laugh and decide that it will not stop me from posting, although I will tone down my comments a lot as I feel wrong commenting and not upvoting.
Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I should be fully back on Thursday, and when I lose the delegation from BlockTrades at the end of next month I doubt it will have the same impact as i have more SP than what I rent from them. Now they need to offer us a toggle switch to not allow a delegation be awarded to us if we don't want this to happen. Picturing some of the whales punishing people they don't like with a large one day delegation, hahahahaha.
I sure hope you don't go. I find you to be one of my favorite posters here, and there are times my vote is to low I still peek in without logging in hoping to see one of your posts. I will try to get back with you in email in the coming days.
Seems like HF20 was pretty lame once it got implemented :/ This is another lame part to it... so much for testing the programs being developed... This resource credit system seems full of stupid issues. Voting power should be base don voting power, and it applies to the SP that is being used to vote... killing voting "mana" just because a delegtion goes away is dumb...
Yeah I was close to 90% when it stole my power. Based on reading others it is happening to, it looks like I will be looking forward to it again at the end of October when my rented delegation runs out from Blocktrades. Now that I know I will run my voting power down 100% the day before it runs out since it will pretend I did regardless. And, no more delegations for me. Once people realize what is going on, it will cut back a lot on people renting delegations. The one at the end of this month will make my third 5 day stretch in less than 6 weeks. No thank you, lol.
I still appreciate your kindness in thinking of me out of all those you interact with. You are one of the brightest lights here. I won't be around much till Wednesday night when I will make my next post, will be back to curating and commenting again on Thursday once my power is back.
